The Story of the Mini Red 75 Ball

Over his many decades in the business Derek Price, Director of Price of Bath, has been a useful advisor to such august bodies at the Lawn Tennis Association concerning ball development, but never more so than with the Mini ball. These days the Mini Tennis system of coloured balls is very much a standard part of junior tennis but it’s thanks to Derek that the Mini Tennis ball came about at all. When the LTA were looking at new ways of encouraging youngsters to take up tennis Derek came up with the Mini Red 75 ball concept. The ball was an instant success and was quickly adopted by tennis coaches in the UK and beyond. It’s the standard ball not only for the LTA but also the International Tennis Federation.
