Here at Price of Bath we like to think our promotional balls are the best quality out there and we are always incredibly busy manufacturing orders for clients from around the globe. One of our very favourite logo ball customers are just a few miles down the road from us in Bradford on Avon. It’s a picturesque Cotswold town, perfect for a slow, relaxed weekend away and a haven for quality independent shops – the stand out amongst them being our valued customer, Doghouse. Located in a lovely vaulted stone building that was once home to a rubber manufacturer, it was empty for decades until Doghouse founder Ruth Warren decided the time was right to launch her new concept. It’s a really unique idea; a pet shop is merged with a dog grooming salon and a chic café. The combination makes for an unrivalled one-off experience for dog-lovers and their four legged friends!

The Doghouse Experience

So, what can you expect when you visit? You will love their cool and quirky cafe, offering all sorts of delicious treats for not only humans but also their hounds too! One of the best sellers is their famous ‘puppaccino’, believe it or not but your pup can enjoy their own drink while you sip on your locally roasted latte and enjoy a croissant or cake!

You will soon discover that Doghouse is so much more than simply somewhere to stop for refreshment. While the wonderful team have adopted the moniker ‘Pet Shop Baristas’, their knowledge extends far beyond the latest fashions in coffee. They are exceptionally well informed on all things pet related and will endeavour to help you with any queries; from in-depth knowledge on which food would suit your pet, to suggestions for toys to keep them amused and even offering puppy behaviour classes.

While enjoying your coffee, you will notice an array of pampered pups walking past, tails wagging and smelling great! In the Doghouse state-of-the-art dog grooming salon ‘Dogwash’ your pooch can be booked in for everything from a ‘Zoom Groom’ to a ‘Full Body Groom’. The salon’s reputation reaches so far and wide that there is a very long waiting list to become a client!

Naturally, Doghouse is also a dog shopping haven, the award-winning pet shop is stocked high with goods from the everyday to the downright luxurious. They offer an enormously wide range of pet accessories, food and gifts - not only for dogs but cats too. More of a boutique shopping experience than simply a pet shop, you can’t fail to be really impressed by the quality of the products on offer. It’s a lovely experience but while it may sound indulgent many of the treats and toys are really good value. On the shelves you’ll find lots of unique items that are not the usual high street fare, none more so than their rather stylish set of branded tennis balls produced by yours truly, Price of Bath! Doghouse Founder, Ruth, has been ordering logo balls from us for over 3 years now and they go down a treat with her canine customers for their quality, toughness and unusual colours. We love how Ruth uses the balls not just as a product to sell in store, but as a promotional giveaway (on one occasion on Wimbledon final weekend) and also as a fabulous prop in her Doghouse Instagram feed. Recently our tennis balls were used as part of an activity for keeping dogs from getting bored. Doghouse also provide ‘woof boxes’ to dog-friendly local hotels near to Bradford on Avon, these little welcome gifts include our wonderfully bright tennis balls, treats, poop bags and more to the lucky pooches of their guests!

Success Against the High Street Odds

At a time when the high street is facing so many challenges Ruth’s Doghouse concept really is a stroke of genius. It’s been an outstanding success and we think it comes down to offering an exceptional service that simply can’t be replicated by shopping online. Going above and beyond to provide a quality service and goods is their great strength, but not only that, Doghouse is also a hub in the community where local dog-owners and their pets meet up and socialise. It all results in a very special place that is certainly worth going out of your way to visit with your canine best friends, especially if you are looking to buy them the best quality tennis balls on the market! It’s wonderful that Ruth chooses to collaborate with local brands like ours and it results in close relationships and exclusive products, which of course benefits the Doghouse clientele.
