Larger balls bouncing in for trial run

A bigger ball will revolutionise tennis by encouraging longer rallies when it is introduced to selected tournaments in January for a two year experiment.

A small British company, J.Price (Bath) Ltd, has stolen a march on its largest international rivals by manufacturing the new ball - The Magnum - which meets the specification of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). Tens of thousands of the balls are now being tried at tennis clubs throughout Britain.
